ESPN Commentator Shares Update on Hospitalized Son

Zak Herbstreit, son of ESPN Commentator Kirk Herbstreit, was hospitalized at Ohio State's Wexner Medical Center. The cause for the hospitalization was reported as a result of 'not feeling right' the past couple of weeks.

Zak was finally able to share an update on his condition.

“I have had a bit of a setback these past couple of weeks. Not feeling right. Culminated with tests results this past Friday that forced me into the hospital. I have some of the best cardiologists looking after me, and I am beyond appreciative. We are doing a number of tests and conjuring a plan to ensure that I will be able to be back to feeling normal again. I appreciate the overwhelming support over the past couple of days. I am feeling good and hope to be out of the hospital soon.”

As a current tight end for the Ohio State Buckeyes, Zak Herbstreit has the support of his team and the notably ranked medical center to ensure that his recovery will be very soon.

Herbstreit also expressed his personal gratitude towards the media's support via twitter on Tuesday.

"He is awake and on his phone from time to time. If you’d like to send him a note he’s at @ZHerbstreit

Again thanks very much for your thoughts and prayers for Zak."

Zak, a junior walk-on for the Buckeyes, appeared in his first game last season. During the win against the Badgers televised on ABC, Kirk Herbstreit covered the televised broadcast and had the opportunity to talk about his son's game appearance on air.
