McElroy says he thinks LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels is above all else. It is hard to argue with this because, in Daniels's only season in Baton Rouge, he led the Tigers to an SEC West title.

With Bryce Young and Stetson Bennett leaving for the NFL, it is hard to find a better resume than Daniels. Experience-wise, the guys would be KJ Jefferson of Arkansas, and Will Rogers of Mississippi State have that wrapped up.

The unknown right now is who will be under center for Alabama and defending national champion Georgia Bulldogs. Like most years, whoever wins these jobs will have a case to be a first-team all-SEC quarterback come January.

If we had a vote for media days, it would be easy to give Jefferson the nod for the first team. We'd round out the list with Daniels for the second team and Rogers for the third team.
