Highlights: Mississippi State Defeats Western Michigan, 41-28

Looking back at the best plays of Mississippi State's 41-28 victory over Western Michigan.

Mississippi State (3-3) snapped a three-game losing streak on Saturday in Davis Wade Stadium as the Bulldogs topped the visiting Western Michigan Broncos (2-4), 41-28.

This was a good opportunity for MSU to make some necessary adjustments ahead of a schedule in which just about every game could go either way within a shaken up Southeastern Conference.

But it was far from the cakewalk that some expected it to be, serving as the perfect reminder to never play down to an opponent deemed to be "lesser" competition.

The Broncos hung in there until the very end, trailing just 17-7 at halftime until MSU eventually put it in on ice later on in the fourth quarter. Before that, though, it looked more like something of a shootout in an unexpectedly competitive matchup with a non-conference opponent.

Up next on the schedule, MSU will head into a much-needed open date as the Bulldogs sustained even more injuries after coming into the game banged up. Both starting quarterback Will Rogers and kicker Kyle Ferrie were sidelined by injury during the win over the Broncos with no definite update on when they'll return just yet.

Here's a look at the biggest plays of the game from both sides:
