This summer, the Bulldogs are currently in the works of shaping and bettering the team to be completely ready for the first kickoff this fall and one of the most intriguing transfer prospects is former Vanderbilt quarterback Mike Wright.

Wright has received praise for multiple aspects of his game, one of the biggest being not only his mobility, but the sheer speed that comes with it.

Although the season is months away, head coach Zach Arnett is already working to see who will be on the starting roster and who will consistently stay on for the remainder of the season.

Reel Analytics, a data company that highlights players on the field for coaches to analyze and to bring some interesting analytical facts to light throughout the sports world, recently shared its thoughts on the new talent coming to Mississippi State.

And they're so high on Wright that they think he could be be college football's fastest player for the 2023 season. He's got a solid case to be some given his body of work to this point.

Between the way he uses some legs and some other facts, some have been led to wonder if Will Rogers -- who has held the QB1 spot for multiple years -- will have some legitimate competition in Wright to keep his position with the growing roster.

It's still far too early to say, but it will be something to keep an eye on throughout camp and the season.

Last season, Wright saw action in 10 games for Vanderbilt and started six contests. He was 85-for-148 passing for 974 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also rushed 71 times for 517 yards and five touchdowns on the ground.

His potential growth within a more talented SEC team could cause him to build upon that in a big way when his time potentially comes to see the field.
