Headliner SEC Matchup For 2024 College Football Season Announced

The SEC is set to discuss a few controversial topics and answer many questions regarding the 2024 season on Wednesday night. The conference will release the full schedule and address the headlining one that has fans in awe.

During their first season in the SEC, the Oklahoma Sooners will host the Alabama Crimson Tide in Norman according to ESPN's Chris Low, who also shared that Georgia is expected to be hosted by Texas in 2024.

Since the Texas Longhorns and Sooners are confirmed to join the SEC on July 1, 2024, each SEC team is now required to add one of these teams to their lineup next year.

It has been almost 20 years since Alabama has made a trip to Norman. During their last visit in 2002-03, Oklahoma swept the Tide in a home-and-home series.

Oklahoma is 3-2-1 all-time against Alabama ever since they beat the Tide in a postseason meetup after the Sugar Bowl in 2014. Four years later, Alabama beat the Sooners in the College Football Playoff.

Although the decision to add the two teams has had a controversial affect, it will be interesting to see how the addition of the teams ripples into the condition of the rest of the conference.

This game in particular will be one that will catch the attention of not only Sooners and Crimson Tide fans, but SEC fans all across the region will be batting an eye to see how this season kickoff plays out.
