Bulldogs get commitment from linebacker Timar Rogers

Mississippi State had already once dipped into Deland, Florida, for a commit in its class of 2021. Now, make it two.
Linebacker Timar Rogers announced on Friday that he has committed to the Bulldogs. He joins safety Myzel Williams as commits from Deland.
Rogers is rated as a three-star linebacker by both 247Sports and Rivals. He is the second linebacker to give a 2021 pledge to the Bulldogs, joining Navonteque Strong from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.
Rogers revealed his plans via Twitter on Friday.
"First, I would like to thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ," Rogers posted. "Without him, this wouldn't be possible and I'm incredibly blessed to be in this position I'm in today. All glory to him. I would also like to thank my family and friends for always being there for me and supporting my dreams. Without their love and support, this day wouldn't be happening. I appreciate my coaches and teammates for having my back on and off the field and I can't wait to get back on the field with my brothers one last time. I would like to thank all my coaches from youth years to now for all the lessons and value they have taught me, not only (about) football, but life itself. I would also like to thank (everyone) who recruited me and gave me a chance to achieve my goal as a D-I student-athlete. With all that being said, I am proud to say I am 100 percent committed to Mississippi State."
Rogers chose the Bulldogs over multiple other options. He reportedly held offers from Auburn, Illinois, West Virginia, Kansas State and more. However, Rogers says he has settled on MSU.
With Rogers' commitment, Mississippi State's 2021 recruiting class is now ranked 49th nationally by 247Sports and 50th by Rivals. The Bulldogs are ranked 12th in the SEC by both outlets, ahead of Vanderbilt and Ole Miss.
