SEC Football Teams and When Their Last 10-Win Seasons Were

Several SEC teams have had a multitude of success over recent history.

Last season, four SEC football teams ended the year with a minimum of 10 wins and the rest of the conference has also finished strong in the past few seasons.

First is Georgia. Having been the winner of the college football national championship for the past two years, it's no surprise that they finished last season undefeated with a 15-0 record. However, just like Alabama, they will also lose their quarterback Stetson Bennett to the NFL draft.

Second, Alabama at the top of the list ended their last season with an overall record of 11-2. They won all seven home games in addition to three away games. Although they have been a consistent topic in the realm of college football for the past few seasons, it will be interesting to see how they do when their quarterback, Bryce Young, moves on to the NFL.

Surprisingly, Tennessee also had an 11-2 record. Their victorious win last season against Alabama struck more buzz about the team, so it makes it all the more impressive that they finished their season so strong.

Next, Lousiana State University finished their season with a 10-4 record, making them the fourth team to finish the season with 10 wins.

As for the rest of the SEC, University of Mississippi and University of Kentucky both had 10 win seasons in 2021, but 2022 was not as good for either of them. Ole Miss had eight wins last season and Kentucky had seven.

The Florida Gators haven't had a 10-win season since 2019 and Auburn University hasn't had a 10-win season since 2017.

In a tie with University of Missouri, Mississippi State University hasn't had a 10-win season since 2014. It's no question that dynamics for the Bulldogs will be different this upcoming season. With new coaching and new players, the Bulldogs will come out with new strategies and formations, surprising other teams.

MSU came close last season ending with a 9-4 record, which put them ahead of Mizzou by three wins.

2011-2013 were good seasons for Arkansas, Texas A&M, and University of South Carolina, but strong records haven't been seen by any of these teams since.

However, every team in the SEC is above Vanderbilt, who has never seen a 10-win season.

With Oklahoma and Texas joining the SEC in the 2024 season more competition is sure to rise. Both teams were only slightly short of 10 wins last season, so the athletic excellence in the SEC is bound to give the conference more wins.
