Everything Noah Carter Said During Friday's Press Conference

Missouri men's basketball forward Noah Carter has been one of the few bright spots throughout the Tigers' four-game losing streak, as he's averaged 17.3 points in that span.

Carter spoke to the media on Friday about his team's recent performance and why he's looking forward to the rest of the season.

Here is a full transcript of what he said:

On his takeaways from the Alabama game:

Obviously, I wanted to come away with the win. Looking at the overall game, we showed great fight, especially the run to close out the first half and we were right there in a two-point game with under eight minutes left. They started hitting shots to extend the lead, so I believe the game was a lot closer than the final score. It came down to a couple of plays and big shots from them that expanded it, but we were right there.

On what he's liked despite being on a losing streak:

Losing consecutive games, just being a close and tight-knit group, we're brothers, we're never going to split up, point fingers at each other and we're going to try to come to a solution to figure out what's going on. It's all about getting back to our roots and I think that's the most important part--Deep down, knowing exactly who we are and going out and showing who we are.

On head coach Dennis Gates navigating them throughout the skid:

You can see the intensity is really amplifying. How important everything is, even the little things. We know where we are and he's reassuring us that we're right there to get over the edge. Just having him as our leader, pushing us and making us better specifically this past week has been very nice. Just pushing us to be the very best that we could be.

On what that reassurance looks like:

Just getting on our butts in practice, but also pulling us to the side and letting us know that he believes in us and he wouldn't be yelling if he didn't care. He needs to expect us to go out there and do great things.

On limiting Florida's second-chance points:

The most important part is that we have to keep our rebounding shell expanded. Sometimes we get too collapsed and that's when rebounds go over our head and we're not able to secure them. We also have to go in aggressively and grab rebounds. We need all five guys to box someone out. It's just a continuous fight and we need to win the war.
