Missouri Guard John Tonje Enters Transfer Portal

The former Colorado State Ram entered the portal hours after the addition of Tony Perkins.

Missouri guard and former Colorado State standout John Tonje is entering the transfer portal, according to Joe Tipton.

Tonje played in limited minutes this past season, averaging 9.8 per game in just 8 appearances. He scored 2.6 points per game, shooting 50% from the field and 33.3% from three. Tonje also averaged 0.9 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game.

The former Mountain West standout averaged 14.6 points per game and 4.7 rebounds in his final season with Colorado State.

In his last time in the transfer portal this past summer, Tonje heard from multiple high-major programs, including Nebraska, Arkansas, Creighton, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Virginia, Iowa State and others.

On January 16, it was announced that Tonje would be shut down for the remainder of the season. According to head coach Dennis Gates, he had been plagued by a foot injury he suffered in the offseason. That injury stuck with him into the regular season.

Tonje, a 6-6, 215-pound guard from Omaha, Neb should attract top-tier schools this transfer cycle.
