February Signing Day Preview for Missouri Football

Missouri football will not see major changes as the February signing day arrives. Read below for all details on the Tigers' February signing day.

The Tigers had an eventful early signing day, with new commitments coming in and their overall class rising. Head coach Eli Drinkwitz and the coaching staff have used their momentum from a historic 11-2 season, taking advantage of their on-field success and using it on the recruiting trail. Here's everything you need to know about Missouri's current class and upcoming signing window.

Where things stand

Missouri finished with a top-20 class in composite rankings after early signing day was over. They gained multiple commitments and eventually signees around the same time, featuring 4-star running back Kewan Lacy and 4-star safety Trajen Greco.

The Tigers are ranked No. 19 in composite team rankings, as well as No. 9 in the SEC. They secured more major in-state recruits, including 3-star offensive lineman Talan Chandler. MU did not necessarily dominate in-state recruiting, only grabbing one of the top-ten recruits.

More importantly than brining in new guys, the Tigers did not lose any commitments. Especially during a defensive coaching change, they were able to retain all their signees, including 5-star EDGE Williams Nwaneri. Nobody transferred out, either.

What to expect

Keep your hopes low. The Tigers have a full class of 21 signees from the previous signing window. There is also a very limited number of recruits still without a home, especially ones that Missouri may have interest in.

Every Tiger commit signed on signing day or shortly after, more than likely locking them down for the upcoming season. Players can always try to get out of their NLI, but nothing indicates that any signees want out.

According to 247Sports composite rankings, there are only three uncommitted four-star prospects in the nation. A native Arkansas WR Ashton Bethel-Roman, RB J'Marion Burnette, and Colorado decommit Omar White.

Names to watch for

A previously mentioned WR, 4-star Ashton Bethel-Roman, could have interest in joining the Tigers.

The Texas native backed out of his NLI at Arkansas just days ago, leaving the Razorbacks without their third highest recruit of the 2024 class.

Bethel-Roman is rumored to be deciding between the Tigers and the Texas A&M Aggies on signing day. He is the only for-sure recruit who Missouri could lock down.

Adding another WR to an already stacked receiver room this late in the recruiting cycle would come as a surprise, but the coaching staff showed interest in the former Razorback before he signed in December.

4-star running back J'Marion Burnette was almost a lock to be a Missouri Tiger just weeks before signing day. Current RB commit Kewan Lacy put a fork in that idea, which is more than likely the reason Burnette has not found a home yet.

Burnette more than likely will not be a Tiger after signing day, but it's a name to throw out. He received an offer from the Houston Cougars on Jan. 21, as well as a crystal ball prediction. He was also once predicted to commit to Arkansas as well, but nothing ever came of it.
