Kickoff and TV Info Announced for Tennessee at Mizzou

With the SEC expanding and going to a different scheduling philosophy, the Tigers will host the Volunteers for the final time as SEC East foes.

Mizzou football knows that it will be hosting Tennessee on Nov. 11, but it had to wait a few more days to know at what time.

Last Monday, CBS announced it would exercise a clause in its agreement with the SEC that allows it to wait until the previous week's games are played before announcing which one it will show in Week 11.

There were three options for Tennessee at Missouri, CBS, ESPN or SEC Network; at 2:30 p.m. CT, 6 p.m. or 6:30 p.m.

On Sunday, CBS announced that it was going with Tennessee at Missouri at 2:30 p.m.

  • Ole Miss at Georgia, ESPN, 6 p.m.
  • Alabama at Kentucky, 11 a.m., ESPN
  • Florida at LSU, 6:30 p.m., SEC Network
  • Auburn and Arkansas, 3 p.m., SEC Network
  • Vanderbilt at South Carolina, 11 a.m., SEC Network
  • Mississippi State at Texas A&M, 6:30 p.m., ESPN2

Of those, the only other matchup between two teams that are currently ranked is the No. 10 Rebels at the No. 2 Bulldogs. The Volunteers are No. 14 in the latest AP Top 25, and the Tigers are at No. 16.

This time a year ago was an interesting time for both teams. Mizzou had just announced a pair of contract extensions, locking down head coach Eliah Drinkwitz through the 2027 season, and defensive coordinator Blake Baker through 2025. At the time the Tigers rank among the SEC’s top four teams in scoring defense (4th, 21.4 points), rushing defense (4th, 86.3 yards), passing defense (4th, 192.4 yards) and total defense (4th, 304.1 yards). Moreover, all four of Mizzou’s SEC losses had been by a combined 18 points.

Meanwhile, No. 5 Tennessee was coming off a loss to Georgia and was looking to impress the College Football playoff selection committee enough to remain under consideration.

The Volunteers didn't hold back and set a school record with 724 total offensive yards, topping the 718 against Troy in 2012, and scored 66 points while yielding just 24 at home.

However, the following week Tennessee lost to South Carolina, 63-38.
