The Missouri Tigers softball team extended its winning streak to four by taking down the Villanova Wildcats in Pennsylvania, 7-0, behind a stellar pitching performance from the trio of Cierra Harrison, Marissa McCann and Taylor Pannell.

The Tigers struck early in the matchup, leaving the first inning with a 2-0 lead after a wild pitch and a sacrifice fly brought two runners home.

In the third inning, Missouri executed a near perfect double steal, bringing Maddie Gallagher in and extending the lead.

Harrison was the first pitcher to take the mound on Saturday, and put together a strong three inning stretch, allowing no runs and only four hits. In for Harrison after her three innings was, McCann who also put together a three inning stretch.

Closing things out for the Tigers, who continued to dominate offensively throughout, was Pannell. The sophomore faced three batters, striking out two and forcing one into a routine ground out.

Offensively for the Tigers, the bats were active. As a team, Missouri finished with seven hits and scored for each one of them.

Missouri moves on to play the Southeast Missouri Redhawks on Wednesday as the Tigers look to continue extending their win streak.

As of now, Missouri has a strong overall record, but has struggled in conference play. As the season continues to heat up, if the Tigers can translate their performance in non conference contests to those within the SEC, Missouri could be a very strong team at season's end.
