Notre Dame Adds PWO offensive lineman Robbie Wollan
Since Marcus Freeman has taken over as head coach for Notre Dame, he has upped recruiting and that includes garnering interest from some very strong preferred walk-on players as well. That includes the 2023 class, where they signed wide receiver Jordan Faison and safety Luke Talich. Then in the 2024 recruiting class, that momentum has continued with Mendota Heights (Minn.) St. Thomas Academy offensive lineman Robbie Wollan announcing he will be a part of the Irish program.
The 6-4, 270-pound offensive lineman is set to enroll officially this summer, but is busy preparing for the next level. Wollan made the trip to South Bend on Thursday for spring practice. The Minnesota native was excited to see his future home, coaches and teammates.
“It was fantastic,” Wollan told Irish Breakdown. “Everything about it was unbelievable from the practice, to the guys, to the facilities. I loved every second of it.”
It’s hard to blame any offensive lineman who wants to be a part of the Notre Dame program. They have a long history of excellence, both recruiting and developing players up front. The decision for Wollan had been finalized before the trip but the visit definitely reaffirmed it. He’s ready to work.
“Notre Dame has been the dream since day one,” he explained. “I always was looking for a school that excels in academics and football, and there is no better place than Notre Dame. I understand the high expectations and work ethic a guy has to have to play in South Bend, and I align with that 100 percent. No place I'd rather be.”
