For the third time overall, 2025 Tampa Bay (Fla.) Berkeley Prep star athlete Dallas Golden returned to Notre Dame this past weekend. The Florida star was one of the biggest names on campus, sitting as one of the most diverse athletes in the 2025 recruiting class.

South Bend is beginning to feel like home for Golden, who got to see snow for the first time. Despite some inclement weather, and a travel delay to boot, Golden and his family had a tremendous return visit to Notre Dame.

"The visit was great as usual,” Golden told Irish Breakdown. "It gets better and better every time I'm in South Bend.”

A big reason for that comfort is the relationships Golden has built with the Irish staff. They have made him a priority in this class as a player, and more importantly, as a person.

"The relationships with the coaches are always consistent,” he explained. "I spent a little time with Coach (Chris) O'Leary. He recruits the Central Florida area. It was also great getting to catch up with Coach (Mike) Mickens and Coach (Marcus) Freeman. Those conversations are always good.”

A big part of this trip was for Golden to really understand his place with the Notre Dame team. The coaches spent time talking about his place as a player, and continued to make him feel valued as a member of the Irish family.

"There wasn't any pitch in particular from the coaches,” Golden explained. "I sat with Coach Mickens and learned a lot about their defensive philosophies and I love how aggressive the defense plays which fits how I like to play. I learned a lot from Coach (Al) Golden during the defense meeting as well, which I can work on in my upcoming senior year.”

Heading into the trip, Notre Dame was in great position with Golden. They leave with that momentum as strong as ever. There is some uncertainty about when Golden might pull the trigger but there isn’t any uncertainty about where the Irish stand.

"There is no timeline on a commitment day right now,” he stated. "Notre Dame will always be one of my top schools due to the fact that they make me feel like I'm one of their top recruits. I love the program.”

In 14 games as a junior, Golden put together an absolutely dynamic season. On offense, he rushed for 1,467 yards and 19 touchdowns, while also hauling in 32 receptions for 394 yards and five more scores.

Golden was also the team’s main kick and punt returner. On defense, he led the Buccaneers with five interceptions. He also broke up four more passes and blocked a kick.

The 6-1, 180-pound athlete is currently being pursued by some of the heavy hitters in college football. Some of the premier programs who have offered so far include the Irish, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, Clemson, LSU, Miami, Florida State, Florida, Texas A&M, Penn State, Louisville, West Virginia, Boston College, Pitt, Duke, Rutgers and Syracuse among others.

Judging by Golden’s production and offer list, it should be no surprise that he is very well liked from the recruiting ranking perspective. He graded out as a Top 50 national player on the Irish Breakdown board and is ranked as a Top 100 recruit by both On3 and 247Sports.
