Dynamic Athlete Dallas Golden Set For Third Notre Dame Trip

In this story:
Secondary recruiting has gotten off to a fast start in the 2025 recruiting class. Notre Dame already holds three commitments on the back end, including cornerback Cree Thomas, and safeties Ivan Taylor and Ethan Long.
The Irish staff is hoping to continue that momentum on January 20th for their upcoming junior day. They are expecting a couple very talented defensive backs on campus, including a return trip from Tampa Bay (Fla.) Berkeley Prep star Dallas Golden.
The 6-1, 165-pound athlete is one of the better athletes in the 2025 class overall. Notre Dame values him at cornerback currently and has been pushing for him for some time. Golden is very much looking forward to getting back on campus this weekend.
"I am really excited for this upcoming visit,” Golden told Irish Breakdown. "I really don't have any expectations per se. I've been up there twice already but I'm just excited to get back up there and talk to the coaches.
"Notre Dame has been treating me like family and I've been communicating with several coaches constantly,” he continued. "I absolutely love the staff and the coaches.”
If you pop on Golden’s junior film, you will see a player who is asked to do a little bit of everything for Berkeley Prep. It shouldn’t be much of a surprise that teams see him differently, some on offense, others on defense and some just as an athlete.
Notre Dame likes him on the outside but it sounds like they aren’t opposed to getting the football in his hands at times.
"They see me as a cornerback, but a little wide receiver might be on the table as well,” said Golden. "The staff seems to really like my versatility as a player.”
For the last couple of months, things have been trending really well in Notre Dame’s favor. A great visit this weekend could go a long way to trying to close on the Florida native, although the maintains that he isn’t in any sort of rush.
"I'm just trying to figure out what school is best for me and my family,” he stated. "I don't really have a timeline yet. That’s something we are working through right now.”
The Irish staff has prioritized length and athleticism since Marcus Freeman joined the program. Golden is yet another example of that. As they say, third time's the charm. Look for Notre Dame to try and continue to sell the vision to Golden this weekend.
In 14 games as a junior, Golden put together an absolutely dynamic season. On offense, he rushed for 1,467 yards and 19 touchdowns, while also hauling in 32 receptions for 394 yards and five more scores.
Golden was also the team’s main kick and punt returner. On defense, he led the Buccaneers with five interceptions. He also broke up four more passes and blocked a kick.
The 6-1, 165-pound athlete is currently being pursued by some of the heavy hitters in college football. Some of the premier programs who have offered so far include the Irish, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, Clemson, LSU, Miami, Florida State, Florida, Texas A&M, Penn State, Louisville, West Virginia, Boston College, Pitt, Duke, Rutgers and Syracuse among others.
Judging by Golden’s production and offer list, it should be no surprise that he is very well liked from the recruiting ranking perspective. He is considered a top 100 national recruit by both On3 and 247Sports. The former ranks him the highest, currently sitting as the No. 56 overall player and No. 5 safety in the 2025 recruiting class. They also have Golden rated as the No. 8 player in the state of Florida, a territory that Notre Dame has made an increased impact in recently.
