Notre Dame Makes Final Five For Offensive Lineman Matty Augustine

One of the top offensive linemen on the board for Notre Dame in the 2025 class is ready to make his decision. That would be Greenwich (Conn.) Brunswick School standout offensive tackle Matty Augustine, who dropped his final five schools tonight.

Augustine included Notre Dame among his top five schools list. The other programs included were Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State and Wisconsin.

Augustine camped at Notre Dame last summer and was a standout, impressing the Irish coaches and earning a scholarship offer. Notre Dame has been considered one of the top schools for Augustine ever since that offer arrived. The program has stayed consistent with Augustine, continuing to prioritize him throughout the process.

Notre Dame is in a very good spot with Augustine, having gotten on him very early on in the process. He has visited South Bend three separate times, including a few weeks ago for Junior Day. Although Augustine has not announced a plan for when he'll make his final decision, but one is expected in the near future.

The 6-7, 290-pound tackle and former basketball player is a teammate and close friend of 2025 safety commit Ethan Long, which certainly helps the cause. Add that to his relationships with offensive line commits Owen Strebig and Will Black, as well as offensive line coach Joe Rudolph, and it’s tough to not feel good about the Irish program’s chances in the end.

Over the last year, Augustine has really garnered a ton of interest from the recruiting side. Some of the premier offers that Augustine earned included the Fighting Irish, Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan, Florida, Penn State, Miami, Nebraska, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Wisconsin, Michigan State, North Carolina, Missouri, South Carolina, UCLA, Stanford, Kentucky, Maryland, Pittsburgh, Virginia, Syracuse, Boston College, Rutgers, Duke and Vanderbilt amongst others.
