Notre Dame Makes Top 10 For Standout Cornerback Mark Zackery

Notre Dame's top ranked 2025 recruiting class isn't close to being done, especially at cornerback. One of the top players on the defensive board - regardless of position - is in-state star cornerback Mark Zackery, and he has placed the Fighting Irish in his list of ten schools.

Notre Dame made the final list for the Indianapolis (Ind.) Ben Davis star along with Georgia, Ohio State, Michigan, USC, Tennessee, Penn State, Oregon, Purdue and Cincinnati.

Notre Dame already has a commitment from Arizona standout cornerback Cree Thomas, but the staff wants at least two more cornerbacks in the class. The list is small, but it's filled with very, very talented players, including Zackery.

It is clear that Notre Dame and cornerbacks coach Mike Mickens have viewed Zackery as a must-get prospect for the Irish. They aren't alone, as Ohio State, Michigan and other top programs have been doing the same.

Zackery grades out as a Top 100 player on the Irish Breakdown board and is ranked as the nation's No. 61 overall player according to 247Sports. He is also ranked as the No. 7 cornerback in the country according to that service. Zackery is a consensus four-star player for the recruiting services.

The 6-0, 165-pound cornerback is expected to be back on campus at Notre Dame next weekend, and it will mark his fifth visit to South Bend. Notre Dame is certainly a top contender for Zackery, but a lot of work needs to be done.

On top of the offers from his top schools, Zackery also has scholarship offers from Texas A&M, Iowa, Louisville, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Duke, Minnesota, Northwestern, Vanderbilt, West Virginia and Indiana.
