Notre Dame Working Hard To Get Cornerback Jett White On Campus

In this story:
It wasn’t long ago that talented 2025 California cornerback Jett White was committed to USC, as well as starting for Orange (Calif.) High School. Heading into his junior year, the talented athlete will be playing for Los Alamitos (Calif.) High School as an uncommitted recruit.
Notre Dame is a school that has been on White even while he was still committed to USC, offering him back on May 13th or last year. The staff has also been working hard to get White on campus, and will continue to do so. White has slowed things down a bit recently, especially with the transition to another school.
“My relationship with Notre Dame is solid right now,” White told Irish Breakdown. “They wanted me to come to camp but I wasn't able to but all of my recruiting will actually start on September 1st. That’s when I will actually know who is interested in me and so forth until then.
“I’m just preparing myself for the upcoming season,” he continued. “It’s a big year for me, a new team in a much more competitive division and I just want to help my teammates and my coaches any way that I can.”
Notre Dame is among the schools that have been beginning to separate themselves. Their effort is not lost on White, who is one of the more talented cover men in the 2025 class.
“Schools that are showing the most interest are USC, Penn State, Ohio State, Oregon, Notre Dame, Maryland, Washington, Texas A&M, BYU, Florida State and Louisville just to name a few,” White stated.
“My recruitment has been pretty much the same lately, just getting to know all the schools and coaches,” he added. “The only visit I’m taking in July is to my dad’s hometown of Louisville, Kentucky. They’re having a 2025 and 2026 barbecue event on July 28th and I will get to see my family that live there.”
September 1st will be here before you know it. That’s when Notre Dame will need to be ready to really turn up the heat.
White put together a standout freshman campaign for the team in 2021, recording 35 total tackles and three interceptions for the squad. In a very limited role on offense, he also recorded 182 receiving yards and three touchdowns on just six receptions. That’s good enough for 30.3 yards per reception.
He followed that up with another strong season as a sophomore. On the year, White totaled 33 tackles and hauled in two more interceptions.
The 6-2 165-pound athlete already boasts an impressive offer list. Aside from his offer from the Irish, White also boasts offers from Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan, USC (which he was previously committed), Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Oregon, Penn State, Utah, Washington, Arkansas, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Arizona State, Maryland, Boston College, Colorado, and Arizona among others.
White is considered a consensus four-star and top 200 recruit nationally by every major recruiting platform. The California native ranks highest by 247Sports, which ranks him as the No. 140 overall player and No. 19 cornerback in the 2025 recruiting class.
