Talented Lineman Carter Scruggs Set To Get First Look At Notre Dame
Over the next couple of months, Notre Dame is going to the destination for a long list of talented recruits. From unofficial and official visits, to spring practice and camps, it’s going to be a very busy time. On March 23rd, fast rising 2026 Leesburg (Va.) Loudoun County offensive lineman Carter Scruggs will be making his first trip to South Bend to see a spring practice live.
The last couple of weeks have been extremely busy for Scruggs, who has been hearing from several top programs. His offer list promises to continue to expand quickly.
"Recruiting has been crazy recently,” Scruggs told Irish Breakdown. "It picked up super fast after the dead period ended.”
The 6-5, 275-pound offensive lineman has gotten tremendous early traction from a recruiting perspective. So far Scruggs has received offers from Penn State, Virginia Tech, Pittsburgh, West Virginia, Virginia and Duke among several others.
As it currently stands, Scruggs does not hold an offer from the Irish. He is hopeful that changes, especially with the Pot of Gold coming up on St. Patrick’s Day. Notre Dame, even without that offer, has already made a tremendous early impression.
"I think a lot of schools have been standing out but in particular I think Penn State, Notre Dame and Virginia Tech have been standing out so far,” Scruggs explained. "I have been in contact with Coach (Joe) Rudolph and from the first time we met he’s said a lot of good things about Notre Dame that checks the boxes in what I want in a college.”
This visit offers Scruggs the chance to see the campus, and everything the program has to offer for the first time. It’s a moment he is very much looking forward to.
"I’m super excited for the visit,” he said. "I’m particularly excited to meet all the coaches and experience how Coach Rudolph coaches plus tour the facilities.”
Notre Dame currently does not have any commits in the 2026 class.
