It is safe to say receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. is well known to fans of the No. 3 Ohio State Buckeyes by now.

Harrison Jr.'s father, Marvin Harrison Sr. might not be as popular among supporters of the Buckeyes, however.

During Ohio State's 37-17 victory against Maryland on Saturday, Harrison Sr. posted what many interpret as a cryptic message on his Instagram story.

Harrison Sr. uploaded a picture of Buckeyes freshman quarterback Lincoln Kienholz, followed by an image of former Scarlet and Gray signal-caller C.J. Stroud.

Two, back-to-back images of Ohio State quarterbacks on the Instagram story of a Buckeyes football parent can mean a lot of things. That being said, one user took the meaning of the stories as Harrison Sr. comparing Kienholz to Stroud.

"Looks more like he's saying Lincoln (Kienholz) has the same or similar skill set as C.J. (Stroud)," the reply said.

Some accounts took that aforementioned response to be comparing the styles of each quarterback, but others read it as a direct comparison of Stroud and Kienholz.

A couple of users even voiced their support for Kienholz taking the job of current starter Kyle McCord, whom they believe has yet to prove himself behind center.

Another user sounded off with an entirely different opinion than the others when he said he thought Buckeyes fans were making a mountain out of a molehill.

"Guy just got his black stripe (removed) last week, he's just giving him and CJ a shout-out," the user said in the first of two replies to the original post. "Just wondering, Just wondering, do you think that Marvin Harrison prefers a guy that just got his black stripe removed a week ago over a sophomore that his son has established rapport with??"

Could there be more than meets the eye with this series of story posts from Harrison Sr., or are Ohio State fans digging deeper into this than they are meant to be?

We lean toward the latter.
