The athletics department announced Monday that Ohio State's road matchup against the Purdue Boilermakers at Ross-Ade Stadium will kick off at noon and be streamed on Peacock, requiring users to pay for the subscription service to watch the Buckeyes' game.

This is the first time Ohio State will play a game on the NBC-based streaming service after its last game against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish was broadcast live on the parent company's network. The Buckeyes were rumored to play the Maryland Terrapins on Peacock Saturday, but that game will be FOX's "Big Noon Saturday" game.

With the Big Ten's media rights deal kicking into gear, Ohio State games on Peacock will soon become the norm. The deal also includes partnerships with CBS — which Ohio State appeared on against the Indiana Hoosiers in its season-opener — and FOX, where the Buckeyes were broadcast against the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers.

The Oct. 14 matchup will be the first time that the Buckeyes will travel to Ross-Ade Stadium since being beaten 49-20 in an upset that derailed any hopes they had of making the College Football Playoff.

This matchup will be the first noon kickoff between the Buckeyes and Boilermakers since 2013 when Ohio State steam-rolled Purdue 56-0 behind five touchdown passes from Braxton Miller and Kenny Guiton.

Ohio State only knows two other kickoff times and broadcast networks for its remaining eight games. The Buckeyes will play the Michigan State Spartans on NBC at 7:30 p.m. at Ohio Stadium Nov. 11 before traveling to Michigan Stadium to face the Wolverines at noon on FOX Nov. 25.
