3 Buckeyes Taken in 1st Round of Todd McShay's Latest Mock Draft

Another mock draft which sees a trio of Buckeyes taken in the first round of the draft.

Stop us if you've heard this one before, but a new mock draft was released that has three Ohio State players going in the first round.

After all when you have one of the best offenses in college football it isn't hard to see why three members of said offense are consistently projected as first-round picks in mock drafts.

The latest mock draft comes from ESPN's Todd McShay is once again headlined by quarterback C.J. Stroud, who McShay has going to the Houston Texans with their second pick.

Stroud could very well be the No. 1 overall pick when the draft rolls around and it isn't hard to see why, either. In two seasons as the starter for Ohio State, Stroud threw for 8,123 yards and 85 touchdowns with just 12 interceptions.

Whether he goes No. 1 overall after a team trades up with the Chicago Bears, or falls to the Texans at No. 2 is yet to be seen, but he is essentially locked in as a top-two pick as it currently stands.

Joining Stroud in the first round are the usual suspects, with Paris Johnson Jr. going to the Tennessee Titans at No. 11 and Jaxon Smith-Njigba hearing his name called by the Baltimore Ravens with the No. 22 pick.

With the Titans releasing left tackle Taylor Lewan this offseason, drafting Johnson could immediately fill that hole and help anchor the offensive line for the foreseeable future.

As for Smith-Njigba, he is a first-round talent despite missing most of the 2022 season. Of course, he could ultimately not end up with the Ravens - as it depends on the contract situation of Lamar Jackson and other external factors.

Even if Smith-Njigba isn't ultimately a Raven, though, he will likely be a first-round pick alongside Stroud and Johnson when the draft rolls around.
