Ohio State BREAKING: 4-Star RB James Peoples Commits to Buckeyes

The Ohio State Buckeyes landed a big commitment from four-star Texas running back, James Peoples

The Ohio State Buckeyes landed another big piece to the 2024 class on Sunday evening when Veterans Memorial (San Antonio, TX) running back James Peoples committed to the program. 

Peoples now becomes the seventh commitment of the 2024 class for the Buckeyes, as well as the first running back. 

He also joins five-star wide receiver Jeremiah Smith as the second skill position player on the board for the Buckeyes. 

Peoples made his announcement on Twitter, picking Ohio State over Texas, Houston, and Oklahoma. 

"I wanted to thank my Family, Coaches, and Friends for supporting me through this entire process," Peoples tweeted on Sunday. I wanted to also thank all the Universities who have recruited me… With that being said I will be Committing to the University OF OHIO STATE." 

With the addition of Peoples, the Buckeyes now hold the No. 3 overall class in the country per On3's rankings, behind only Georgia and Alabama.

They also hold the No. 1 class in the Big 10, ahead of Michigan and Penn State, with a class score of 94.30.

“What stood out the most to me was family! Everyone there was like one big family and I felt that not just from the Coaches but through the players and people around campus as well," Peoples told On3 after his commitment. "They really took me in like one of their own which was special to me! Everyone there had a pride for the block O, which they carried around everywhere they went and in everything they did.”
