Ohio State Buckeyes Reveal Themes for 2023 Home Football Games
The themes for each of Ohio State's six upcoming home football games were announced Wednesday.
Beginning September 9 when the Buckeyes return home from their season-opening, conference matchup against the Indiana Hoosiers in Bloomington, Indiana, the themes provide an extra way for the Scarlet and Gray faithful to show their support.
The themes for each home game are as follows:
September 9 (Youngstown State) - Alumni Band/Faculty & Staff Appreciation
Ohio State's second game of the season will feature a performance from the Ohio State University Alumni marching band, and a pre-game honoring of exemplary professors, officials and other administrators from the university.
September 16 (Western Kentucky) - Scarlet & Gray/Buckeyes Care
Be ready for Ohio Stadium to be lined in scarlet and gray stripes when the Buckeyes take on the Big Red. Historically, fans have been asked to wear one of the two colors based on the section in which their seats are.
October 7 (Maryland) - Homecoming/Hall of Fame
The first game of October to be played in Columbus concludes Ohio State's annual Homecoming Week, which features a parade, king-and-queen crowning, and the return of thousands of Buckeyes alumni returning to their alma mater.
October 21 (Penn State) - "Scarlet the 'Shoe"
A returning theme from 2021, Ohio State fans will once again be asked to wear as much scarlet as they own for this year's pre-Halloweekend game against Penn State. Here's hoping the all-scarlet Buckeyes uniforms make an appearance as well!
November 11 (Michigan State) - Military Appreciation
Ohio State salutes current and former military members when they take on the Michigan State Spartans on Saturday, November 11. Be sure to bring your camouflage!
November 18 (Minnesota) - Senior Day
The Buckeyes bid farewell to their seniors and graduate students during Senior Night against Minnesota, the final game in which these Scarlet and Gray players will play in Ohio Stadium.
