The talented trench player will announce his pledge on Thursday, July 6, at 9 p.m. CT. Jonah-Ajonye will choose from Oregon, Georgia, Georgia Tech and OU, with the Bulldogs currently the heavy favorite to land the 4-star lineman according to On3, Rivals and 247Sports.

Jonah-Ajonye is the nation's No. 2 DL and No. 21 player according to ESPN and the nation's No. 38 player per On3. As such a highly touted prospect, it is no surprise that Georgia is pursuing the Houston-area product so heavily.

Listed at 6-foot-5 and 270 pounds, Jonah-Ajonye fits right in with the large, physical prowess of the Bulldogs defensive line. The big-time recruit holds over 30 offers from schools around the nation.

According to Gabe Brooks of 247Sports, Jonah-Ajonye "could become an impact player with a long-term ceiling in the early rounds of the NFL Draft."

If Brent Venables and company are somehow able to land a commitment from Jonah-Ajonye, it would be one of the biggest and most shocking recruiting victories since the new regime arrived at Oklahoma. With Jonah-Ajonye visiting Norman during the ChampU BBQ last month, the Sooners' staff may still have a sliver of hope to reel in one of the nation's most disruptive trench players.

Unfortunately for OU, the Bulldogs seem to have gotten the last run at Jonah-Ajonye, who took an official visit to Georgia the week after his visit to Oklahoma.

If Jonah-Ajonye does indeed commit to Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs, landing Williams Nwaneri, David Stone, Nigel Smith II or Dominick McKinley in the 2024 class would become even more important for the Sooners' coaching staff.

According to reports, OU is still heavily in the mix for each of the aforementioned players. With only one defensive line commitment in 2024 so far, Oklahoma will be desperately waiting to see where they stand with some of the other top trench players in the upcoming recruiting cycle.
