Oklahoma Lands Transfer O-Lineman

In this story:
Oklahoma’s depth on the offensive line after spring football needed to be addressed.
So Bill Bedenbaugh scoured the transfer portal and on Friday landed Troy Everett, a 6-foot-3, 285-pound center from Appalachian State. Everett made the announcement on Twitter that he was committed to OU.

Everett chose OU over Virginia Tech and will have three years eligibility at OU.
Everett hails from Roanoke, VA, and played in three games for the Mountaineers before redshirting in 2021. In 2022, Everett broke out by starting the first six games at center and playing in 10 of App State’s 12 games. He played 478 offensive plays and allowed just one quarterback sack in 262 pass blocking snaps.
That landed him a spot on The Athletic’s Freshman All-American second team.
As a prep prospect, Everett played at Lord Botetourt High School and helped guid his team to 14-1 and 9-1 records as a junior and senior.
He was a 3-star prospect as rated by 247 Sports and was the No. 1 offensive guard in Virginia as he was named first-team All-State and Blue Ridge District Offensive Lineman of the Year.
Oklahoma returns senior Andrew Raym, a three-year starter, and also brings back former Cal transfer McKade Mettauer at left guard. But the Sooners need to identify a starter opposite Mettauer, where third-year sophomore Savion Byrd got most of the snaps this past spring.
