On Thursday, Dillon Gabriel was named a finalist for the Manning Award, bestowed annually to the top quarterback in college football.

This comes less than 24 hours after Gabriel was honored as a unanimous First-Team All-Big 12 selection.

Gabriel has had a great season in 2023, throwing for 3,660 yards and 30 touchdowns to just six interceptions, good enough for a 172 QBR. The Mililani, HI, product also added 373 yards and 12 scores on the ground.

This year, Gabriel moved into seventh all-time in FBS career passing yards and eighth all-time in FBS career passing touchdowns.

Gabriel is one of 10 finalists for the Manning Award, including former OU and current USC quarterback Caleb Williams.

On Wednesday afternoon, redshirt freshman wide receiver Nic Anderson was named a semifinalist for the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose award, which recognizes the top offensive player in Division I football who also exhibits integrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, drive, community and tenacity that also was born in Texas, graduated from a Texas high school or plays football at a Texas-based college.

Anderson's nomination comes on the heels of a breakout regular season for the Katy, TX, native. After recording just one touch in 2022, Anderson racked up 31 catches, 725 yards and nine touchdowns during his second season in Norman.

The younger brother of former Sooners' running back Rodney Anderson is one of 19 semifinalists; including TCU running back Emani Bailey, Texas running back Jonathan Brooks, Texas Tech running back Tahj Brooks, Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers, Oklahoma State running back Ollie Gordon, Texas wide receiver Adonai Mitchell and fellow Texas wideout Xavier Worthy.
