After leading Oklahoma to an impressive victory over No. 3 Texas, Dillon Gabriel was named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.

The Sooners' quarterback threw for 285 yards and a touchdown, also picking up 113 yards and another score on the ground. Gabriel scored the game's first touchdown in the first quarter in addition to firing the game-winning pass to Nic Anderson in the corner of the end zone with less than 20 seconds left in the contest.

The most impressive part of Gabriel's stellar performance may have been his poise under pressure. With just over one minute left in the game, the former UCF QB led OU down the field with multiple solid throws along the way.

While many Oklahoma fans doubted Gabriel coming into his first Red River Rivalry start, the fifth-year senior excelled in what will likely be his only regular season matchup against the Longhorns.

According to OU's sports information team, Gabriel is the only quarterback in Sooners' history to throw for more than 250 yards and rush for more than 100 yards in the same game against Texas.

With the eye-popping list of quarterbacks who have played at Oklahoma, Gabriel being the only passer to record this feat is impressive. After Saturday's performance, Gabriel has now vaulted himself into the Heisman conversation, and will have the chance to bolster his case in the coming weeks.

Following his first career win over Texas, Gabriel will play his former team, the Golden Knights, when OU returns to action off of its bye week.
