Oklahoma WR Target Announces Top Four, Commitment Date

In this story:
On Tuesday afternoon, 3-star 2025 wide receiver Ja’Kayden Ferguson announced his top four schools and his commitment date.
The 6-foot-2 pass catcher from Fort Bend Marshall (TX) will decide between Oklahoma, Houston, Tennessee and Oregon on Jan. 2, 2024.
Two weeks ago, 4-star 2025 wide receiver Isaiah Mozee also including OU in his top schools, giving Jeff Lebby another explosive target to focus on in next year's cycle. Mozee is the son of former Oklahoma running back Jamar Mozee, who is now the head coach at Lee's Summit North High School in Missouri.
Emmett Jones and company have already rounded up a solid trio of 2025 wideouts, with 4-star playmakers Jaden Nickens, Gracen Harris and Elijah Thomas all in the Sooners’ upcoming recruiting class.
With 4-star 2025 quarterback Kevin Sperry also committed to OU, Ferguson would be joining an electrifying group of skill position players if he were to end up in Norman.
Currently, it appears that the Cougars are leading the way in the Houston-area product’s recruitment, but with over a month until his commitment date, Oklahoma has plenty of time to try and beat out Dana Holgorsen and company.
Ferguson’s uncle, Robert Ferguson, played wide receiver for Texas A&M before being selected in the second round of the 2001 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers.
If the Sooners are able to earn a commitment from Ferguson, he would be the ninth player to join OU’s 2025 recruiting class and the second player from the Lone Star State, joining Harris, who hails from Ennis.
