NORMAN — Oklahoma wide receiver D.J. Graham II is having surgery on Tuesday, according to a tweet sent out by the former defensive back.

Graham offered no other details.

Graham was on the sideline in his jersey and shorts on Saturday during the Sooners' 73-0 victory victory over Arkansas State. His injury has not been disclosed, and coach Brent Venables didn't address Graham's situation when he talked about injuries Tuesday during his weekly news conference.

A senior for the Sooners, Graham transitioned from cornerback to wide receiver during the 2022 season. The 6-foot senior from Keller Central (TX) started 12 games over three years as a defensive back, including 10 starts as a sophomore in 2021.

That same year, Graham made an incredible one-handed interception against the Nebraska Cornhuskers that garnered praise from all corners of the sports world. The play even earned the No. 2 spot on SportsCenter's Top Plays of 2021.

In his time as a DB, Graham made a few other flash plays, showcasing his remarkable athleticism. In his 28 appearances as a defensive back, the Fort Worth native recorded 72 tackles, five pass breakups and two interceptions.

Coming out of high school, Graham was a 3-star wide receiver prospect who chose the Sooners over Michigan, Ohio State, LSU, Georgia and others. Due to his size, speed and leaping ability, Graham was a coveted prospect despite not being a 4 or 5-star prospect.

Due to OU's defensive struggles under Lincoln Riley and Alex Grinch, the team attempted to use Graham's athleticism and raw potential to mold him into a versatile defensive back. Once Brent Venables and company took over, however, Graham transitioned back to offense.

While there are no reports yet as to what Graham is having surgery to repair, the senior wideout should have at least one more year of NCAA eligibility.
