NORMAN — The first two sessions of the Brent Venables Football Camp turned in great results for Oklahoma.

OU offered six high school athletes a scholarship after they impressed the Sooners' coaching staff in Norman. Additionally, Oklahoma offered three more talented prospects who were not on campus, making a busy week for Brent Venables and company.

Prior to the start of camp, the OU staff sends invitations to a handful of recruits that they are interested in getting a closer look at. If these players perform exceptionally well amongst a competitive group of their peers in front of Sooner coaches, they can be extended an offer.

This was the case for 2024 4-star wide receiver Ivan Carreon, who showed off a solid route tree at 6-foot-6 and 205 pounds.

The Odessa (TX) playmaker frequently beat his defender in one-on-one drills, attacking all three levels of the field in different reps.

Carreon is a 4-star recruit, rated as a top 200 player in the nation according to 247Sports. The multi-sport competitor is a Texas Tech commit, but was recruited to the Red Raiders by current Sooners' coach Emmett Jones

In the 2025 class, fellow pass-catcher Chase Loftin earned an offer from Oklahoma following a strong performance in one-on-one drills.

At 6-foot-5 and 200 pounds, the Elkhorn North (NE) tight end easily ran by defenders despite being much bigger than all of the DBs who guarded him.

The Sooners' offer is Loftin's first, but it would not be surprising to see the rising junior gain traction on the recruiting trail during his junior season given his impeccable route running and mobility as a big-bodied pass catcher.

Loftin told AllSooners that he will be back in Norman for a visit in July, and that the offer from OU had a special meaning to him.

"It's a dream come true for me. ... One of the happiest moments of my life," Loftin said later. "It definitely felt like I earned it and had to put some work into it. ... Overall, it's just my dream school."

Also in the 2025 class, Melissa (TX) offensive lineman Owen Hollenbeck was offered by the Sooners after he impressed coaches at Thursday's camp session.

At 6-foot-4 and 313 pounds, Hollenbeck has great size for a rising junior, and is stronger than most of the other players at his position group. A two time All-District selection in his first two high school seasons, Hollenbeck holds offers from Grambling State, North Texas and SMU.

The Brent Venables Camp allowed OU to get a jumpstart on its 2026 recruiting, resulting in three offers to incoming sophomores. The first of this trio was Southlake Carroll (TX) wideout Brock Boyd

Boyd was one of the top wide receivers in attendance in each of the camp's first two days, continually making plays in one-on-one reps. After beating multiple  Oklahoma DB offers with his speed and footwork, Jones pulled Boyd to the side and extended an offer to the 6-foot-2 rising sophomore.

Similar to Carreon, Boyd was offered by Texas Tech before Jones made the move to Norman. The Southlake Carroll wideout is quickly garnering interest from multiple other Power 5 programs, receiving offers from TCU and Nebraska less than two days after his trip to Norman.

After Saturday's camp session, 2026 Bethany (OK) defensive back Evenson Malaska and 2026 Portage Northern (MI) offensive lineman Gregory Patrick were both offered by the Sooners.

Despite being younger than most of the wide receivers he was matched up with, Malaska had a strong showing in one-on-one reps, locking down almost every pass catcher he faced. Malaska, who received his first offer on Saturday, is the younger brother of Utah DB Jocelyn Malaska

Patrick, on the other hand, has now racked up six offers, including; Michigan State, Minnesota and Oklahoma. The skilled blocker is already 6-foot-5 and 260 pounds with a 6-foot-8 wingspan heading into his sophomore year.

With time still to grow, Patrick has a chance to end up as one of the top offensive lineman in the 2026 recruiting class.

Three other prospects also received offers from the Sooners this week.

Colin Peacock, a 2025 athlete from Gunter (TX) High School, picked up an offer from OU on May 30 before attending the Saturday session of the Brent Venables Camp.

Listed at 6-foot-1 and 185 pounds, Peacock holds offers from Sam Houston State, North Texas and UTSA. He has the speed to play both wideout and DB, running a 10.52 in the 100 meter dash as an underclassman.

With OU safety's coach Brandon Hall being Peacock's primary recruiter, it seems that the Sooners are viewing the rising junior as a defensive back.

Dameon Crowe, a 2026 speedster from Berkner (TX) High school, also received an offer from Oklahoma this week.

The young wide receiver hit 10.71 in the 100 meter dash as a freshman and has already received offers from Arizona State, North Texas and Texas State.

Finally, Bill Bedenbaugh extended an offer to massive 2026 o-lineman Jackson Cantwell of Nixa (MO) High School.

Cantwell is a jaw-dropping 6-foot-8 and 270 pounds as a rising sophomore, excelling in football, basketball and track and field. The big-time 2026 lineman was on campus this week to visit the Sooners, saying he had a "Very, very fun day."

After receiving an offer from Oklahoma, Cantwell has now pulled in 12 Division I offers after only one year of high school football. With Florida State, Arkansas, Texas A&M and Miami already expressing their interest in the big tackle from Missouri, Cantwell is sure to snag more big-time offers in the coming years.
