Sunday Offering: Multiple Oklahoma Targets Announce Commitment Dates

In this story:
July has been a big month for Brent Venables and company so far, as Oklahoma has begin to see their recruiting efforts pay off in the 2024 recruiting class.
On Saturday, 5-star tight end Davon Mitchell pledged his commitment to the Sooners, choosing OU over Alabama and Miami. Mitchell also announced that he would be reclassifying to 2024, making the Los Alamitos (CA) product Oklahoma's 12th commitment in the upcoming recruiting cycle.
Mitchell is the Sooners' first pledge of July, but likely will not be the last, as a handful of talented players are planning to announce their commitments later this month.
Dates
This week, 4-star 2024 wide receiver Zion Ragins of Jones County High School (GA) set his commitment date for July 18.
July 1️⃣8️⃣ is the DATE @ZionRagins #CommitmentDay #BallSoHardFam @GreyhoundFball @RecruitGeorgia @RustyMansell_ @ChadSimmons_ @lukewinstel @JeremyO_Johnson @BrooksAustinBA pic.twitter.com/42LhX7PtYp

The speedy pass catcher is rated one of the top 20 wideouts and top 180 players in the country according to ESPN.
Ragins has hit a scorching 10.3 in the 100 meter dash, proving that he has truly elite speed that only a handful of athletes in college football can match. When watching the Georgia native's film, it is easy to draw comparison to former Sooner and current Arizona Cardinal, Marquise Brown.
Listed at 5-foot-9 and 170 pounds, Ragins stature matches that of Brown as well. While On3 and Rivals both project the speedster to end up at OU, there has been a lot of chatter recently that Ragins may favor Florida State or Georgia.
With four wide receivers already committed to Oklahoma in the 2024 class, it would be easy to connect the dots if Ragins does eventually commit elsewhere.
Later in the week, IMG Academy (FL) 4-star defensive lineman Jayden Jackson announced his top five schools and announced his commitment date. The 300-pound interior defensive lineman will choose between Miami, Florida, Ohio State, Texas and Oklahoma on July 13.
I’ll be committing July 13 👀@CanesFootball @GatorsFB @OU_Football @OhioStateFB @TexasFootball pic.twitter.com/rvhMeVqcVh
— Jayden Jackson (@JaydenJackson65) July 7, 2023
A teammate of fellow OU target David Stone, Jackson would be a great addition along the defensive line for Todd Bates and Miguel Chavis.
Unfortunately for the Sooners, it seems as though Jackson is likely headed elsewhere, with On3 and Rivals both placing predictions that the interior defensive lineman will commit to Miami, Texas or Ohio State.
Jackson is rated one of the top 10 defensive lineman and top 190 players in the 2024 class according to Rivals.
Finally, star running back Caden Durham said on The Jordy Culotta Show that he will announce his decision on August 25, with LSU and Oklahoma pursuing the speedy running running back heavily. Durham, who moved from Southmoore (OK) to Duncanville (TX) during his sophomore year of high school, was in Norman for the ChampU BBQ.
Durham is a dual-sport athlete, excelling in track and field as well as football. Rated a 4-star recruit, the Duncanville standout is the No. 7 halfback and No. 63 player in the nation per Rivals.
If DeMarco Murray and company earn a commitment from Durham, he could be the second running back in the Sooners’ 2024 class, joining Carl Albert (OK) product Xavier Robinson.
Lindale (TX) offensive lineman Casey Poe will announce his commitment on July 12 and Westmoore (OK) safety Mykel Patterson-McDonald will announce his pledge on July 31.
Offers
Venables and company also extended at least three offers this week, with two going out to local prospects.
On Monday, Oklahoma extended an offer to 2025 Southern Durham (NC) defensive lineman Isaiah Campbell.
Blessed to receive an 🅾️ffer from Oklahoma @OU_Football! 🏈#AGTG #GoSooners #BOOMER @wco70mack @CoachVenables @CoachToddBates @MiguelChavis65 @CKennedy247 #SOULJAH pic.twitter.com/eb5KKZL30h
— Isaiah Campbell (@cioc1126) July 4, 2023
Campbell is a 4-star recruit, rated as one of the top 10 defensive linemen and top 80 players in the country according to 247Sports. Listed at 6-foot-5 and 265 pounds, Campbell already boasts 25 offers from schools like Alabama, Clemson and Georgia.
A few days later, Bill Bedenbaugh and company offered Edmond Santa Fe (OK) 2024 offensive lineman Joshua Aisosa.
#AGTG After a great conversation with @CoachVenables I’m blessed to announce that I’ve received an offer from The University of Oklahoma #BoomerSooner #TMRollsDeep @OU_Football @OU_CoachB @JRConrad64 @CoachAustinMaly @coach_wolfpack @Perroni247 @MohrRecruiting pic.twitter.com/jv2uxWUdex
— Joshua Aisosa (@aijsosa) July 7, 2023
Listed at 6-4 and 300 pounds, Aisosa is a good athlete for his size that can play multiple positions along the offensive line. The Wolves standout also competes in wrestling, which is a trait that many offensive line coaches covet in their recruits.
Aisosa is a 3-star recruit who holds over 10 offers from programs such as Iowa State and Missouri.
Finally, Venables and company extended a prefered walk-on offer to Norman High School defensive back Dax Noles.
Excited to announce that I have received a PWO to the university of Oklahoma! @CoachXBrew @CoachVenables @coach_bhall @OU_Football pic.twitter.com/9TlFu5KoLk
— Dax Noles (@Dax_Noles) July 2, 2023
Noles attended the Brent Venables Elite Camp in June, performing very well in one-on-one reps against a very talented group of wideouts. Listed at 6-foot and 185 pounds, Noles holds two Division I scholarship offers, with Navy and Dartmouth being the first two schools to extend offers to the 2024 recruit.
If Jay Valai and Brandon Hall are able to get the talented local DB as a walk-on, it would certainly be a great addition that would add quality depth to the Sooners roster as the team heads to the SEC.
