Former Oklahoma QB Enters Transfer Portal for Second Time

After leaving Norman to play for the Wisconsin Badgers, one of the Sooners' former signal callers has entered the transfer portal once again.

Former Oklahoma Sooners and Wisconsin Badgers quarterback Nick Evers entered the transfer portal on Saturday evening.

Coming out of Flower Mound High School (TX), Evers was a 4-star recruit, rated the No. 137 overall prospect and No. 8 quarterback in the 2022 recruiting class, according to 247Sports. After originally pledging to Florida with current OU wideout Jayden Gibson, Evers flipped his commitment to the Sooners after Jeff Lebby was hired in Norman.

Evers competed in both the All-American Bowl and Elite 11 Finals in high school, and was a big-time win on the recruiting trail for Lebby and company.

An early enrollee in Norman, Evers appeared in just one game as a true freshman at Oklahoma, throwing one pass in a 49-0 loss to the Texas Longhorns during Brent Venables first season as OU's head coach.

After the 2022 season, Evers entered the transfer portal and committed to Wisconsin, where he sat behind fellow former Sooners' quarterback Tanner Mordecai. Evers has three years of eligibility remaining and will be in search of a new home during the spring transfer portal window.

Following the 2023 season, former Oklahoma running back Tawee Walker also transferred to Madison, WI, to play for the Badgers.

Evers' younger brother, Drew Evers, is a coveted offensive line recruit in the 2026 cycle who already holds an offer from Bill Bedenbaugh and company.

Rated the No. 24 overall prospect and No. 4 interior offensive lineman in his class by Rivals, the younger Evers brother was in Norman for the Brent Venables Elite Camp last summer and has been back for a visit since picking up an offer from the Sooners.
