NORMAN — On Monday, the newest edition of the AP Top 25 Men's College Basketball Poll was released, with Oklahoma making the cut.

The Sooners landed at No. 25 in the poll after taking down then-No. 23 USC in the Rady Children's Invitational championship game on Friday.

OU comes in just behind No. 24 Illinois and No. 23 Alabama, who both have one loss.

Monday's edition of the Top 25 marks the first time that Oklahoma has been ranked since Porter Moser took over as the team's head coach. The former Loyola Chicago Rambler seemingly has a much more athletic team this season, with players like Jalon Moore, Javian McCollum and Otega Oweh all showcasing their skill sets early in the season.

The Sooners' victory over USC moved Oklahoma to 6-0. Moser's team started out the year with a very light schedule, but have topped Iowa and USC in their previous two contests.

The last AP Poll that saw OU earn a spot in the Top 25 came out on March 8, 2021, when Lon Kruger was still at the helm in Norman.

The Sooners will return to action on Thursday when the team meets Arkansas-Pine Bluff at McCasland Field House for a "students-only" game.

Oklahoma's meeting with the Golden Lions will mark the first men's basketball game at McCasland Field House since New Year's Eve in 2012.
