On Saturday morning, 4-star 2025 tight end DaSaahn Brame announced his top 8 schools.

The coveted tight included Oklahoma, Oregon, Florida, Tennessee, Kansas State, Texas A&M, Alabama and Michigan in his list.

Hailing from Derby, KS, Brame is a 4-star recruit, rated the No. 96 overall player and the No. 4 tight end in the 2025 recruiting class, according to 247Sports. Brame was in Norman over the summer for one of the Sooners' recruiting events in July.

An impressive junior season from the 6-foot-6, 225-pound tight end helped lead Derby to the Kansas 6A state title game.

Now that tight ends coach Joe Jon Finley is sharing OU's offensive coordinator position with Seth Littrell, Oklahoma may have a leg up on some of the other schools on Brame's list.

If the Sooners were able to land a commitment from the coveted tight end prospect, he would be the seventh offensive player to join OU's 2025 recruiting class, alongside 4-star quarterback Kevin Sperry, 3-star offensive lineman Owen Hollenbeck, 3-star wide receiver/tight end hybrid Trynae Washington and 4-star receiver trio Gracen Harris, Elijah Thomas and Jaden Nickens.

After landing former 4-star tight end Davon Mitchell in the 2024 recruiting class, the Sooners are in contention for two of the top tight ends in the 2025 cycle. In addition to Brame, the Finley and company are still battling for Washington (OK) tight end Nate Roberts.

Roberts, a former Notre Dame commit, is rated the No. 129 overall player and the No. 2 tight end in the nation, according to Rivals.

If the Sooners are able to land a commitment from either Brame or Roberts, it would be a huge addition to what already has the makings of an impressive recruiting class for Brent Venables and company.
