This week, Oklahoma learned that it is still in contention for two more 2025 recruits.

After recent commitments from local juniors Alexander Shieldnight, Marcus James and Trynae Washington, the Sooners have a chance to add two more players in what is already an impressive group.

Currently, Brent Venables and company have assembled the No. 4 national recruiting class in the 2025 cycle, with plenty of chances to move up even further before next year's signing day.

On Tuesday, Fort Bend Marshall (TX) standout Ja'Kayden Ferguson announced his top four schools. The 3-star wide receiver will decide between Oklahoma, Tennessee, Oregon and Houston on Jan. 2.

Listed at 6-foot-2 and 175 pounds, Ferguson is a speedy pass catcher with good size who seems to be a good fit for Jeff Lebby's offense. The Houston-area product is the nephew of former Texas A&M wide receiver and second-round draft pick Robert Ferguson.

Currently, the Sooners have three 4-star wideouts on board in the 2025 class, with Gracen Harris, Jaden Nickens and Elijah Thomas all committed to OU.

With Oklahoma also battling for elite 2025 receivers Andrew Marsh and Isaiah Mozee, Ferguson's commitment will give some insight as to where the Sooners' sit with the two aforementioned playmakers.

On Thursday, 5-star defensive back Dorian Brew included OU in his top 10 schools alongside Oregon, Florida, Michigan, Texas A&M, Penn State, TCU, Florida State, Texas and Ohio State.

Brew is the son of two former collegiate track stars, with his mother earning a spot in the Ohio State Athletics Hall of Fame and his father winning an Olympic Gold Medal. As a sophomore, Brew was clocked at 10.75 in the 100-meter dash.

For comparison, current Sooners' speedster Gavin Freeman ran a personal-best 10.81 in the 100-meter dash during his OK Preps days at Heritage Hall (OK).

Originally from Ohio, Brew moved to Conroe, TX, ahead of his junior season.

The 6-foot-2 defensive back is the No. 12 player and the No. 3 cornerback in the 2025 class, according to 247Sports.

While Oklahoma made the cut for two prospects in the past week, Venables and company also missed out on two more talented recruits.

First, 5-star running back Harlem Berry announced that he will decide between Texas, Florida and LSU on Dec. 18.

The Metairie, LA product included the Sooners in his top five in early October, but didn't include OU in his top three.

Berry is the No. 1 running back and No. 23 overall player in the 2025 class according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

With Oklahoma no longer in contention for Berry, the Sooners will likely set their focus on Tory Blaylock, who included DeMarco Murray and company in his top 13 in August.

Blaylock, the son of former NFL running back Derrick Blaylock, is the No. 2 running and No. 89 overall player next year's recruiting cycle.

The Atascocita (TX) star visited Norman earlier in the fall to see the Sooners take down Iowa State.

Lebby and the OU offensive staff also failed to make the cut for 5-star offensive lineman Jordan Seaton, who narrowed his list to seven earlier this week.

Seaton, who plays at IMG Academy alongside OU commits David Stone and Jayden Jackson, is the No. 7 overall player and the No. 1 offensive tackle in the 2024 class, according to On3.

Seaton included Tennessee, Oregon, Colorado, Ohio State, Florida, Maryland and Alabama in his list.
