Sunday Offering: Oklahoma Makes the Cut for Pair of 4-star 2025 Prospects

The Sooners are one step closer to adding two talented juniors to what is already an impressive class in the upcoming recruiting cycle.

With spring practices starting on Monday, much of the attention surrounding the Oklahoma football team is focused on the current roster.

Despite the intrigue, the Sooners found themselves in the mix for two talented 2025 prospects who released their top schools list over the past week.

Currently, OU has 10 commits in the upcoming recruiting cycle and are the nation's No. 5 class, according to 247Sports.

First, 4-star offensive lineman Micah DeBose announced his top 10 schools on Friday.

In addition to Oklahoma, the Mobile, AL, product included Florida, Mississippi State, USC, Alabama, Florida State, Ohio State, Tennessee, LSU and Auburn in his list.

DeBose is rated the No. 69 overall player and No. 8 offensive tackle in the 2025 class, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. Listed at 6-foot-5 and 315 pounds, the Vigor (AL) standout has good size for a high school junior.

DeBose is also a standout on the basketball court in addition to throwing shot put in track and field, showcasing his athleticism and versatility. The 4-star recruit was once a Georgia commit, but backed off of his pledge in late December.

While the Sooners will certainly have to fight hard to land the talented tackle, Bill Bedenbaugh and company have a good track record of developing offensive lineman and should have a chance in DeBose's recruitment.

On Saturday, 4-star running back Tory Blaylock announced his top six, which included OU, Ohio State, Alabama, Oregon, Texas and Tennessee.

Rated the No. 221 overall player and No. 17 running back in the country, Blaylock visited Norman in late January and has received multiple predictions from recruiting services to land at Oklahoma.

Listed at 5-foot-11 and 190 pounds, Blaylock has impressive speed, running a 10.70 in the 100-meter dash as a sophomore. The Atascocita (TX) star is the son of former NFL running back Derrick Blaylock, who rushed for a career-high 539 yards and eight touchdowns for the Kansas City Chiefs in 2004.

The 2025 running back is also the younger brother of Lindenwood defensive back Taylen Blaylock and Wisconsin safety Travian Blaylock.

If the Sooners are able to earn a commitment from Blaylock, he would add to a solid skill position group loaded with a trio of 4-star wide receivers and one of the top 11 quarterbacks in the nation.

In addition to making the cut for Blaylock and DeBose, Brent Venables and company also extended offers to four high school prospects this week.

First, 5-star Duncanville (TX) edge rusher Kevin Ford Jr. picked up an offer from the Sooners. Listed at 6-foot-3 and 225 pounds, Ford is rated the No. 30 overall player and No. 6 defensive lineman in the 2026 recruiting class.

Ford was in Norman over the weekend for Oklahoma's Future Freaks recruiting event. Also in the 2026 class, Mansfield Lake Ridge (TX) offensive lineman Felix Ojo picked up an offer from OU while on campus for the same special weekend as Ford.

In the 2027 class, Anna (TX) offensive lineman Peyton Miller and Denton Guyer (TX) athlete Zane Rowe both received offers while in Norman at the team's Future Freaks event.
