OU Softball: Oklahoma Adds Another Commit to 2025 Class

Patty Gasso’s hot streak on the recruiting trail continued on Wednesday.
Lexi McDaniel, an infielder from Saint Joseph, MO, committed to Oklahoma, McDaniel announced on Twitter.
Last month, McDaniel was rated at the No. 1-overall player in the 2025 recruiting class by Extra Innings Softball.

Playing for Aces Fastpitch, McDaniel helped her team finish in second place at the 18U Alliance National Tournament.
“In what is a deep 2025 class as the top, Lexi has emerged as an elite infielder,” Extra Innings Softball wrote. “… She batted .491 with 115 hits, 24 home runs, 19 doubles, six triples and a jaw-dropping 97 RBIs.”
After signing excellent classes in 2023 and 2024, Gasso is already setting the table to reload with another talented wave of players after winning the program’s third-straight national title in June.
McDaniel was Gasso’s fourth commitment in the 2025 class in September.
The Sooners already landed verbal pledges from top prospect Sophia Bordi, Kendall Wells and local product Allyssa Parker.
Gasso’s excellence in recruiting isn’t limited to her evaluations of high school talent, either.
OU’s transfer class, headlined by former Oklahoma State star Kelly Maxwell, was ranked as the top transfer class this offseason by D1 Softball.
