OU Softball: Oklahoma's Contest Against No. 23 Wichita State Canceled

Tuesday's top 25 road clash between the Sooners and the Shockers was scrapped due to weather.

Oklahoma won’t be hitting the road on Tuesday after all.

The top-ranked Sooners were originally scheduled to face-off against No. 23 Wichita State, but due to weather the contest has been canceled.

The decision has also been made to not reschedule the game, as there are only a couple of weeks left in the regular season.

Patty Gasso’s squad is currently scheduled for another road contest on Wednesday to take on the Tulsa Golden Hurricane.

First pitch at Collins Family Complex is slated for 5 p.m. tomorrow, but more rain in the forecast could again force a cancellation on Wednesday.

Oklahoma will resume Big 12 play this weekend as the Sooners host the Kansas Jayhawks at Marita Hynes Field.

Sunday’s finale will be the final home game of the regular season, serving as Senior Day, but if the Sooners sweep Kansas Oklahoma will also be able to celebrate the program’s 11th-straight Big 12 regular season title.

Seniors Grace Lyons, Grace Green, Alex Storako and Haley Lee will all be honored after Sunday's contest before Oklahoma leaves Norman for the Bedlam series the following weekend.
