Former Oklahoma catcher Jocelyn Erickson announced her transfer destination on Thursday via Twitter. The talented freshman is headed to Gainesville to play for the Florida Gators.

As a freshman in 2023, Erickson batted .337 with 11 doubles, 7 home runs, and 31 RBIs. Over the course of Oklahoma's National Championship season, she amassed 32 RBIs, 25 runs scored and 18 extra-base hits. She played in 57 games for the Sooners, accounting for 32 starts across multiple positions.

"We are thrilled that Jocelyn decided to join our program," Florida head coach Tim Walton said in a press release. "She is a competitor that has achieved success at every level because of her work ethic and knowledge of the game. We can't wait to have Jocelyn join us this fall and be a part of her journey to becoming the best version of herself on the field and in the classroom."

The 2022 Gatorade Softball Player of the Year in Arizona looked to have a promising future in Norman after contributing on a stacked Sooners team. Patty Gasso has added several impact players in the transfer portal, but the loss of Erickson certainly hurt.
