John Hoover offers his real-time observations as the No. 1-ranked Sooners continue their weekend at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic in Cathedral City, CA, with a single Saturday game against San Diego State. Just keep the browser open and refresh often for Hoover's updates throughout today's contest.

5:10 p.m.

Sorry for the connectivity issues. Bad time for it.

Kierston Deal throws OU's first complete game of the season (great time for it) and Tiare Jennings delivers three hits and four RBIs as OU runs its winning streak to 65 in a row and 12-0 this season with a 7-0 victory over San Diego State at the Mary Nutter Classic in Cathedral City, CA.

Here's the game story:

On to Sunday.

4:36 p.m.

After Hannah Coor’s first collegiate hit with Brito on first base, Tiare Jennings does it again, this time with a two-out double to the wall in left-center, and it’s 6-0 Oklahoma.

It’s Jennings’ 52nd career double. She needs one more to tie Kristin Vesely for third place in OU history.

Looks like No. 65 is in the bag.

4:23 p.m.

Stat of the day: OU hasn't allowed a run in the fifth, sixth, seventh or eighth inning yet this year.

Kierston Deal is in complete control as she finishes the sixth inning of a 4-0 game with San Diego State.

Deal's streak of retiring batters reached 16 before an infield single, but she induced a groundout to end the threat.

4:17 p.m.

Deal is back for Oklahoma, and this will be the first time all season an OU starter has pitched into the sixth inning.

OU’s bullpen has been stellar, with 23 1/3 scoreless innings of relief.

4:08 p.m.

That's Jennings' fifth home run of the season, her 12th and 13th RBIs of the season.

She's now at 78 career home runs and 258 RBIs. Her RBIs rank second in school history and she's now on an eight-game hitting streak.

4:06 p.m.

Pickering grounds out behind Brito, who advances to second base. Tiare Jennings works the count full and then smacks a two-run home run to straightaway center. Brito and Jennings score and it’s 4-0.

4:00 p.m.

OU still a little sluggish offensively, so they pop out of the dugout and incite the Sooner partisan crowd with some between-innings cheers. And hey, guess what? Alyssa Brito starts off the fifth inning with a single up the middle, and Brito starts exhorting her teammates (and the crowd). Pitching change for SDSU and here we go.

3:56 p.m.

What a play by Rylie Boone, full-speed sprint into foul territory and a catch up against the fence. That’s followed by a rundown in center field as Jayda Coleman makes a nice catch — and Chris Plank just stole my thunder: OU's outfield is a no-fly zone. Great minds, right?

Kierston Deal has now retired 14 in a row.

3:41 p.m.

Plank tells us the game ended last night at around 1:30 a.m. CT, and the team was on the bus back to the hotel around around 1:45 a.m. CT. He thinks OU got back to the hotel around 2 a.m. Oklahoma time, so midnight on the West Coast.

"One of the later nights we've ever had covering Sooner softball," he said on the broadcast.

Good insight from The Man.

3:39 p.m.

Sooners lead it 2-0, but have stranded five runners so far. Good thing for OU that Kierston Deal has been excellent. She's retired eight in a row.

3:35 p.m.

Oklahoma baseball is doubling up Wright State 14-7 in the bottom of the sixth inning of their doubleheader opener, and OU has already obliterated Oklahoma State 91-56 in women’s basketball at Lloyd Noble. And the men's basketball team is well underway against OSU in Stillwater.

Follow AllSooners all day for real-time updates.

3:31 p.m.

Kasidy Pickering leads off the third with an opposite field single to left, then advances on a wild pitch. Jennings grounds out. Runner at second, one out for hot-hitting Ella Parker.

3:19 p.m.

Nice hitting by Jayda Coleman, who delivers a two-out, two-run single up the middle to score Bland and Boone and put Oklahoma in front for the first time today.

OU leads it 2-0 heading to the third inning.

3:13 p.m.

Opposite field single from Rylie Boone and the Sooners are cooking. Pitching change coming from SDSU.

3:11 p.m.

Kinzie Hansen grounds out by Cydney Sanders draws a walk. Maya Bland in to pinch run. This might be the spark this lineup needs.

3:05 p.m.

If the Sooners were to come out sluggish today, it would be understandable. They got in super late last night after taking down Wisconsin in a 10-2 run rule.

Deal certainly doesn’t look sluggish. She just recorded a strikeout to go with two fly balls caught in right field by Riley Boone. OU coming to the plate in the second.

3:01 p.m.

The weather looks absolutely perfect in Palm Springs (big surprise), and softball fans have packed the stadium (big surprise). Also, mountains.

What a scene.

3:00 p.m.

Ella Parker flies out to left-center field to end the threat. On to the second inning.

2:59 p.m.

Tiare Jennings delivers like she always does, this time with a two-out single to center field, sending Pickering to third base.

2:54 p.m.

Fly ball out by Jayda Coleman and a ground ball out by Alyssa Brito, but Kasidi Pickering beats out a ground ball back to the circle. OU has a runner at first.

2:48 p.m.

Deal gets out of trouble with her first strikeout. Sooners are coming to the plate.

2:46 p.m.

Deal rides inside and grazes Aly Garcia. Runners at first and second, one out,.

2:44 p.m.

Deal gets the first out with a ground ball to Avery Hodge at second, but the next batter bangs one opposite field off the third base bag. Runner at first.

2:33 p.m.

On the pregame show with Chris Plank, Patty Gasso just called yesterday's wins over Mississippi State and Wisconsin "big dubs." She said the Bulldogs "are the real deal."

She said her concern today is that the team was on its feet for so long yesterday.

"We didn't really have anywhere to stage," she said.

Likes the contributions from the freshmen, Kasidi Pickering and Ella Parker. Parker is batting .417 so far this season, Pickering .407.

2:30 p.m.

Left hander Kierston Deal will start for Oklahoma. Here are today's lineups:

2:23 p.m.

Howdy softball fans. Ryan's off today, so I'll be blogging today's game. Hope you guys enjoy it.

Just got notice that first pitch is set for 2:40 p.m. following Nebraska's 6-0 win earlier today. The Sooners are currently warming up and look ready to take on San Diego State. OU is riding a 64-game winning streak.
