Three-Star Wide Receiver Commits to Oklahoma State

The Cowboys have another commitment in their 2025 class.

Oklahoma State has picked up another commitment for its 2025 class.

On Tuesday, three-star wide receiver Royal Capell announced his commitment to OSU. Capell became the sixth player from the 2025 class to commit to the Cowboys. He chose OSU over offers from other high-profile schools, including Oklahoma, Baylor and Houston.

Capell visited OSU over the weekend before confirming his commitment to the team this week. In adding Capell, OSU is gaining a talented receiver. In his junior season, Capell caught 59 passes for 788 yards and five touchdowns.

At Steele High School in Cibolo, Texas, Capell helped the Knights to a 13-2 record before losing to Summer Creek in the UIL 6A Division II Semifinal. In addition to his receiving, Capell accumulated 241 yards and one touchdown on the ground in 26 rushing attempts over the past two seasons.

As a sophomore, Capell broke onto the scene at Steele as a receiver, catching 62 passes for 767 yards and six touchdowns. Ranked 144th in Texas, Capell’s athleticism at 5-foot-10, 190 pounds, has helped him earn a spot on a power five team. Capell also competes in track and field at Steele.

Capell joins two other wide receiver commits in the Cowboys’ 2025 class. Three-star recruits Kameron Powell and Matrail Lopez have also recently committed to play in Stillwater.

After the Cowboys went 10-4 last season, including a trip to the Big 12 Championship, gathering young talent for the future is critical in the new Big 12. As Mike Gundy and Kasey Dunn look to build a talented offense in 2025 and beyond, commits such as Capell are necessary to bridge the gap between OSU’s current talent and the next generation.
