The Oklahoma State Cowboys signed 17 athletes to its 2024 recruiting class on Wednesday, which was also known as National Signing Day. The early signing day saw a shift in momentum for plenty of programs across the nation.

For Oklahoma State, each of its 17 recruits -- including a flipped commitment from a TCU commit -- signed their Letter of Intent and officially became Cowboys. Nine of those Cowboys are expected to hit campus in January and begin preparing for their college football careers with spring training.

After early signing day, here's how Oklahoma State's 2024 recruiting class ranks.

According to On3, Oklahoma State had the No. 12 class in the Big 12 out of the 16 programs. Of course, this accounts for the move of the six programs, seeing two leave for the SEC and the four new programs from the Pac 12.

All 17 of the Cowboys commits were three-star prospects, which isn't foreign to Oklahoma State. They're known for taking these lower-ranked prospects that fit the system and developing them into stars over time. Of course, this still impacts the team's recruiting rank.

Texas Tech, with 23 commits -- including a five-star commit -- leads the Big 12 in recruiting rankings. Houston is last on the list.

Across all of college football, Oklahoma State has the No. 59 ranked class, putting them in between Duke and UCLA.

Again, these rankings don't mean a ton as is. It's just stars and rankings, with no consideration as to how these prospects fit at each school and how they pan out as players. On top of that, there's another added wrinkle to recruiting, as the transfer portal is running rampant with all of the new rules.

For the Cowboys, remaining consistent and developing talent is crucial as the Big 12 enters a new era, opening a huge opportunity for Oklahoma State to compete for conference titles regularly.
