Ole Miss Football Relives Quincy Adeboyejo Tip-Drill Touchdown Reception vs. Alabama
There have been a multitude of plays that have made their way into Ole Miss Rebels lore, but one play in modern times stands out above the rest.
Earlier this week, On3 posed a question on Twitter: "Who has that one college football video?" The Rebels threw their hat into the ring by sharing Quincy Adeboyejo's tip-drill touchdown reception in 2015 against the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Quarterback Chad Kelly handled a subpar snap on the play, felt the pressure from the Crimson Tide and threw a desperation heave in Adeboyejo's direction. After a tip, the ball fell directly into the receiver's hands, and he went the distance to the end zone.
The 2015 matchup between the Rebels and Tide resulted in Ole Miss' second-straight win over Alabama in as many years, the only time in series history that the Rebels have won back-to-back games in the rivalry. Adeboyejo's heroics wound up playing a large part in that win, by the way, with the final score being 43-37 in Ole Miss' favor.
That win for Ole Miss also is the most recent win for the team against Alabama. Since that night in Tuscaloosa, the Crimson Tide have won seven straight meetings in the series, including a 30-24 win in Oxford last season.
In 2023, Ole Miss and Alabama are scheduled to square off in Tuscaloosa on Sept. 23.
