Ole Miss Takes Over Times Square With Trinidad Chambliss, Kewan Lacy Heisman Campaigns

The excitement for the Ole Miss Rebels is growing each day. Few programs can compete with the roster that Pete Golding assembled this offseason.

The returners are the key with Ole Miss. On the defense, guys like Will Echoles and Suntarine Perkins will be game-changers. But the reunion of Trinidad Chambliss and Kewan Lacy could be the pairing that fully unlocks the Rebels' potential.

These two aren't just the faces of Ole Miss football. They are some of the most recognizable names in all of college football.

Chambliss and Lacy on the Biggest Stage

Chambliss and Lacy were featured on a billboard in Times Square in New York. Above them, a sign read "Trinidad Kewan '26", signaling Ole Miss' desire to push the Chambliss and Lacy Heisman campaigns.

Some programs wait a lifetime for a Heisman-caliber player. The Rebels have two in the same year. Lacy isn't hiding his lofty goals this season.

"I'd say one goal of mine, of course, is the Heisman," Lacy said at SEC Media Days. "Then I want 2,000 all-purpose yards. That's one of my goals. But I think just me being the best I can be is going to help my team."

The entire program has been publicly vocal about a Heisman campaign for both Chambliss and Lacy. But the message is still clear: Team success first.

"They're going to do everything they can to win the football game, and they know that's based on their preparation," Golding said at SEC Media Days. "And so I have zero concern of it affecting them and becoming an issue, so I'm all about putting people in position to have success, whatever that is. I feel like that's why they call us coaches...It's our responsibility to educate and equip them to have success."

Both players have great cases as they head into the season. Chambliss threw for nearly 4,000 passing yards, 22 passing touchdowns, and three interceptions without a full season of starts. Lacy set a program record in rushing yards (1,567) and rushing touchdowns (24).

If they can build off those monstrous numbers, they will certainly be on the short list for the Heisman. Ole Miss is clearly behind their dynamic duo. They seized an opportunity to put Chambliss and Lacy on one of the biggest stages.

However, preseason hype is one thing. Now, they have to back up the confidence and repeat last season's success.
