In a move that sent shockwaves across the college football landscape last fall, Lane Kiffin made the decision to depart Oxford for the LSU Tigers head coaching job.

Kiffin, one of the most polarizing figures in college sports, remains in headlines this offseason as he navigates his first Spring Camp at the helm of the LSU Tigers.

Back in Oxford, Pete Golding and Co. are working through a pivotal offseason of their own with quarterback Trinidad Chambliss back on the practice fields ready to roll.

But both sides continue throwing subtle jabs at each other this offseason with Chambliss dishing out a shot of his own at his former head coach on Tuesday after taking the podium - describing the difference between Golding and Kiffin's approaches.

“I would say I mean just the personalities are a little different than our old coach and coach Golding,” Chambliss said, according to a video shared by Brad Logan. “I’d say he’s more of like a team guy. We really value his leadership, whatever he says.

“He’s show you faster than I can tell you,” Chambliss said. “He leads by his actions, and we really appreciate that.”

Chambliss returns for his second season in Oxford where he is set to be one of the top returning players in all of college football.

On his way to finishing in the Top-10 of last year's Heisman Trophy voting, Chambliss threw for 3,937 yards and 22 touchdowns with only three interceptions.

All in all, he totaled the significant numbers while not starting at the beginning of the season - also rushing for 527 yards and eight scores.

Now, as the coveted signal-caller prepares for Year 2 in the Magnolia State after returning to the practice fields - and out of the courtroom after fighting for additional eligibility - all eyes are on the elite signal-caller in Oxford.

“It’s been a little crazy. A little hectic. But, I’m here now so that’s all that matters,” Chambliss said after Tuesday’s practice.

"It’s definitely settled in. Very excited to see the news that came out on Friday. Now I can just put all my attention to Spring ball and making sure that our team’s ready for the season.”
