The Oregon Ducks' success on the recruiting trail continued on Friday afternoon, as they received a major commitment from four-star Edge rusher Rashad Streets, who announced his decision on The Pat McAfee Show.

Streets is ranked as the No. 11 overall Edge rusher in the 2027 recruiting class, per 247Sports. Streets is also the No. 4 overall player in North Carolina. The Edge rusher is best known for his speed, and with the Ducks, he has the potential to be a major challenge for opposing teams' quarterbacks when he joins Oregon in 2027.

While Ducks fans will have to wait another season to see Streets suit up, he has the potential to be the next leader for Oregon's defense under new defensive coordinator Chris Hampton.

The commitment of Streets is a huge addition to Oregon's 2027 recruiting class, as their ranking took a massive jump following his commitment. According to On3's 2027 Industry Football Team Rankings, the Ducks are now the No. 9 overall team. Two Big Ten teams rank ahead of Oregon in the 2027 recruiting class, including the Ohio State Buckeyes (No. 3) and the USC Trojans (No. 5), per On3.

Streets is the sixth commit to join Oregon’s 2027 recruiting class. After adding the No. 4 overall 2026 recruiting class, per On3, coach Dan Lanning and the Ducks look to continue that success heading into the 2027 recruiting cycle, and the addition of Streets helps that effort.

In addition to Streets' commitment to Oregon, other top recruits in the Ducks' 2027 recruiting class include Denton Guyer defensive lineman Zane Rowe, Thompson High School Edge rusher Cameron Pritchett, and Tyler High running back CaDarius McMiller. All three players are rated as four-star recruits, per 247Sports.

Three-star offensive tackle Avery Michael and linebacker Sam Ngata are currently committed to Oregon.

Oregon's Recruiting Success Under Dan Lanning

Throughout his tenure as Oregon’s coach, Dan Lanning has used both the transfer portal and recruiting to make the Ducks a national championship contender, and that trend is expected to continue.

That success has been on full display in the last two seasons for the Ducks, as Oregon has made two consecutive appearances in the College Football Playoff. This season, with the return of quarterback Dante Moore, the Ducks are one of the top favorites to win the national championship.

Not only will Moore have an impact on the Ducks' chase of winning their first national championship in program history, but several players from Oregon’s 2026 recruiting class could also play a massive role in that effort. When Streets arrives in 2027, that goal to compete for and win championships will no doubt continue.
