Colorado is making a late push for one of Oregon's top commitments in the 2024 recruiting class.

Pinson (Ala.) Clay Chalkville offensive tackle Jac'Qawn McRoy made a cross-country trip to Boulder to spend the weekend with Deion Sanders and the Buffs.

McRoy, who stands at 6'8", 365 pounds, committed to Dan Lanning and the Ducks to kick off the month of July. He chose Oregon from a final group that also consisted of Ole Miss, Arkansas and Kentucky.

The Alabama native is the highest-rated offensive line commit in Oregon's 2024 recruiting class and the No. 4 overall pledge behind Aydin Breland, Elijah Rushing and Brayden Platt

He's rated a four-star (0.9297) recruit in the eyes of the 247Sports Composite. The same system ranks him the No. 167 player nationally, the No. 13 offensive tackle and the No. 9 recruit in Alabama.

Prior to committing to Oregon, McRoy spoke highly of his relationship with Ducks' offensive line coach A'lique Terry.

"That's kind of like my big bro," he told Ducks Digest. "He's 27. He's young. He's gonna give you that new-school type of coach."

If you watched Colorado at all this year, it was evident that the Buffs struggled to keep quarterback Shedeur Sanders upright, routinely getting dominated by their opponents in the trenches. Head coach Deion Sanders has made it a major priority to devote both the time and resources to overhaul his offensive line, and McRoy appears to be a top candidate after this recent visit.

This will be a recruitment to monitor as the early signing period is just over two weeks away and the Ducks would like to sign as many of their verbal commitments as possible and get them on campus as early enrollees this winter.

McRoy's official visit to Boulder also comes on the same weekend that Ohio State hosted five-star Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy offensive tackle Jordan Seaton, Oregon's top remaining offensive line target, on an official visit in Columbus. He set a commitment date following that trip, which could indicate that the Buckeyes are surging.
