The recruiting process has been a crazy one for Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei running back Nate Frazier. He's landed 13 new offers in 2023, including the latest one from Auburn this week.

The 5-foot-11, 195-pound back has taken recent visits to USC, Colorado and Miami.

The Coach Prime Factor in Boulder

"They're a very organized place. Very family-oriented. The staff showed every single recruit out there love and they were treated like a priority. When you have a person like Deion Sanders that could put together a program like that in a matter of one year, that's great."

Miami standing out despite an abbreviated trip

"I was able to talk Coach Cristobal. They got something real good going over there. Miami being a real good program for over the years. You got people like Sean Taylor that were there, Ray Lewis that were they, Ed Reed that were there. It's the University of Miami. I want to for sure go back up there to experience everything about the university."

As one of the hottest recruits in the country there's been no shortage of schools hitting him up, but he named a few he's in contact with on a weekly basis.

"Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Miami, Alabama, Tennessee and Nebraska," Frazier said.

Carlos Locklyn has led the charge for Oregon and the two have developed a very strong connection.

"Coach Lock, that's my dog. We have a tight relationship," he said. "I can call him up any time I want to. Sometimes a lot of the conversations we have aren't even about football. He's a great person."

It was a little tough to get a clear read on where Frazier was at with his recruitment, but he mentioned that it's "Getting real" and he wants to give every school the same amount of consideration.

"I wouldn't say cut down a list but it's coming to time. I'm not closing in on a decision but I have been thinking about it. I have been really doing my research on every school. Building strong relationships right now."

"It's starting to feel real. It's one of the toughest decisions of my life."

While there isn't a clear timeline to work with, the highly-coveted back has a few schools he'd like to see this spring.

"I have to go take a trip to Tennesse," Frazier said. "I want to go back to Oregon to go watch a practice. I want to go to Nebraska. It's a few schools on my list I have to go take visits to."

The offensive standout also runs track for Mater Dei, which makes it hard to plan visits around meets. He shed some light on how he approaches trips.

"When I go on visits the most important thing to me is seeing the school, how the coaches are in person. Seeing the history. I'm going out there to these colleges to handle business."

Whenever Frazier does make his commitment he wants to be an early enrollee and play spring football at his school of choice.
