Andy Katz Drops Pitt From National Rankings

In this story:
PITTSBURGH -- It was a rough week for the ACC, especially those in a crowded middle class like the Pitt Panthers, but that didn't help them climb up CBS Sports analyst Andy Katz's latest set of national rankings.
The Panthers checked in at No. 30 in Katz' Power 36 Rankings last week but they have disappeared from the list entirely after a 1-1 week that included a loss at Clemson and a blowout victory over Boston College.

There are some surging teams that had sat below Pitt but now sit in the Power 36 after stacking long winning streaks. No. 33 Nevada has won five in a row, No. 35 Syracuse has won four in a row and No. 36 Princeton has won eight in a row.
There are just two ACC teams left standing in the Power 36. No. 9 North Carolina and No. 10 Duke have survived but both Clemson and Wake Forest were dropped after upset losses to Notre Dame. Virginia went 0-2 last week and was dropped.
The Panthers begin a two-game home stand to close out the regular season tonight when they host Florida State.
